Welcome!
This is the official website of the Vernon Senior Secondary School
Graduation Class of 1984!
2007
Hello to everyone. Thanks for taking time to check out our web site. I say ‘our’ web site as we have now added our new blog. This will allow grads to post topics and communicate about whatever it is that we feel is a topic that has meaning to us.
Connecting with friends is now easier and we hope you will check back on a regular basis to see what the ‘hot topics’ of conversation are. Over the last several weeks I have heard from many grads that I had not heard from for a very long time. This is totally cool so let’s connect and stay connected with the new blog.
I recently heard a song on the radio that reminded me of a lot of the conversations I have been having lately. Here are a couple excerpts from it; hopefully this will make you smile as it did for me.
Everybody’s Free (to wear sunscreen)
written by Mary Schmich
- “Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don't”
- “Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't, maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't, maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself, either. Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else's”
- “Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography in lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young”
- “Don't mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85”

Let’s have a great 2007 and start planning on attending the 25 year reunion in 2009; it will be here sooner than you think. See you in the blog.
Cheers,
